Sorry for the delay in posting. Just been trying to catch up (and recover) from last week’s ramp build.
Below you will find pictures of the ramp build over two days. Saturday and Sunday. If you click on them can see a much larger picture – look for the “>>” at bottom right to move onto next picture. I had planned to take photos but was too busy, I’m thankful my little girl Emmy, picked up my camera and took photos. Don’t get used to my camera Emmy. 😉
Uncle Martin and his assistant Nery, put us all to work got us through the first day of the ramp build. Even when we hit an unmarked irrigation line – we pushed though. And the younger Scouts did a fantastic job building the picnic table and policing the area for trash as well. Day two was a much smaller crew and it had rained but other people showed up to help as well. There were even soccer games during our build as well!
Lots of family, friends, Scouts, Dads came to help us out. From cooking (David Castillo) running for supplies (Lori Swaney), herding traffic (Zack Swaney and Mercedes Lewis), preparing tacos for Sunday (Angelica Zukow).
We couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help and I am so overwhelmed by the support, financially and physically to help make this a successful build for my son.
The ramp is complete and to ADA specs. But we’re still not finished. We still need to build a PVC ball return for the field but we’ll get that done but at least it’s done in time for the Blessed Sacrament Church Halloween festival this coming weekend. Â The ramp will make it much easier for people to go down to the field and see the rides.

Tomorrow is the big day. We start construction on the ramp, table and then some. I hope the weather holds out! If not – we’re prepared to work the following weekend as well.
Below are some pictures of the materials and something I’m gonna try as well.

WE ARE FUNDED!Â
Thank you all for the support on my son’s Eagle Scout project. With the pledges and donations we’ve received we have BLOWN PAST our goal.
“What will we use the extra money for you might ask?”
Well, some will be used for “feeding the troops” helping out, incidentals and fuel for the Bobcat we’ll have on site. The rest will be donated to the church on behalf of Joaquin Saldivar as an Eagle Scout.
Wow…we’re almost there. We begin building this weekend and proud Dad will be there taking pictures in between working. Below is a list of many donors to this very special project. It does not include any of the many worker bees we’ll have on site during construction, the on site Catering Crew as well as the younger scouts that will endeavor to become an Eagle Scout.

Thank you all for supporting him!

- Approach and coordinate with Blessed Sacrament Church about project
- Enlist the help of Uncle Martin/SK Construction Services
- Get Troop 500 approval
- Prepare documentation for Eagle Scout Committee presentation on 9-9-13
- Present to Eagle Scout Committee (approved)
- Taco Breakfast sponsored by Troop 500 to benefit Joaquin’s project (Sunday 9-15-13) raised $327.72!
Dad, will keep this page updated with the progress of this project and below you will find a gallery of the Site Survey when Joaquin and Uncle Martin outlined the plan.
We’ve also begun to receive donations so I will update the above chart showing the fundraising process  and if any of the schedule changes as well.
