While shooting my friend Morgan for her Harley Quinn costume, I also wanted to try shooting a composite. Basically taking lots of photos and then putting them together in Photoshop. Kinda like our past LEVITATION and VAMPIRE shoots.
I wanted to try this “Hands reaching from the Dark” type of image and used a snoot on my strobes. This basically shoots a small concentrated beam of light to one part of your subject. So I positioned Morgan and began shooting her in various “fright” positions. Then I got involved and shot parts of my hands as well.
It was a funny shoot because we were laughing so much and for awhile we couldn’t be serious because of how stupid we looked trying to look scared. But in the end, I got the shots I wanted and then did my composite. Use the sliders on the image to see the before and after. I tried to get as much as I could “right” in the camera to minimize a lot of Photoshop work.
Here is another photos with more of the hand images and some more of Morgan’s expressions. You can click on it for a larger view.
Thanks for letting me share.

PS – me trying to show Morgan how to look scared. LOL.
