My son showed me this trailer for a video game and I was not just amazed at the game but how the production value of the trailer.
Very cinematic.
Okay so maybe some regressed Dungeon and Dragons memories are coming up but man, that game trailer was just freaking me out on the depth of field it presented.
You know what depth of field is right?
It’s when images are what I call, “multi-focus” or when the foreground image is sharp but the background is out of focus. See image below:
I’m always trying to achieve that type of shot in photography and Digital Video but it’s harder in DV than in photography. That technique just pulls your eye to the focused object.
It looks just so cool in the game trailer. Plus, I almost believe those guys are real, they way they shrug their shoulders and stuff.
Pretty cool.
