Carlos and Maria Sepulveda’s wedding

I just love the composite of these two photos (above) I took, it shows exactly how two people in love should dance at their wedding…

Finally got around to processing the pictures I took at my sister-in-law and new Brother-in-law (welcome Carlos) wedding over this past Thanksgiving weekend in Lake Jackson, Texas. I figured it would be easier to just post them on my blog for the familia to see.

It was a wonderful ceremony and I shot with my F1.8 lens on my Nikon D7000 plus I used my Nikon SB-600 Speedlight during the dance. I met Carlos’ wonderful nephew, Rafael who is a photographer by trade and he gave me some pointers. He was shooting the wedding (hired) and I watched and learned as best I could. You can see his work at his portfolio site: http://rafaelsepulveda.com.

Jeez, it was tough shooting with my F1.8 lens. If you weren’t focused on the right spot, then the whole image was blurry, except for maybe just their nose! It was even tougher at the reception where it was dark. I’ve shot my daughter’s basketball  games (here and here) but man, finding your focus poinst in the dark on moving (dancing) people was rough. I kept fiddling with my camera and flash settings but finally  relaxed and danced with “my familia.”

Even got to dance with my little girl too.

I loved the ceremony and it meant so much more to Liz and I since we also were married over a Thanksgiving weekend, 19 years ago. Sigh…it’s gone by so fast.

So enough of the memories, now onto the photo gallery below.
